Presenters: Christopher and Melanie Ballard have seven children ranging in age from fifteen to two, and have homeschooled since their oldest was born. Melanie is passionate about helping others fulfill their God-given missions. In addition to personal mentoring, Melanie has influenced hundreds of women over the past nine years by directing the annual Moms' Retreat—a two-day retreat for LDS homeschooling mothers to rejuvenate, network, and receive inspiration to further their missions. Melanie has a bachelor’s degree in social work from Brigham Young University and is pursuing a master’s degree in Liberal Arts from George Wythe University.
Chris is an attorney in the Criminal Appeals Division of the Utah Attorney General’s Office. He received both his bachelors and law degrees from BYU. He loves taking his children to watch the Cougars play. In April, 2015, Chris will direct the second-annual Dads’ Retreat. Patterned after Moms’ Retreat, Dads’ Retreat provides LDS fathers a chance to rejuvenate and gain inspiration in fulfilling their divine roles.
Together, Chris and Melanie serve as one of six Lead Couples in Marriage Enrichment Inc., a non-profit organization created over 40 years ago by Dr. Victor and Lois Cline.
