What are Binder Cover Inserts and how are they used?
Just as the lesson plans are the central teaching piece for parents, The Student Binder is the central piece for each child. Student Binders allow for children to “Record” their learning and personal work. It is a repository of everything they study, learn, and complete each school year. Keeping a Student Binder will allow for children to follow along during lessons, complete assignments at the end of each lesson, and review their work for years to come.
Important Tips & Reminders:
Tip 2: Rightfully so, Foundations Lesson #1 focuses on the purpose of the Student Binder, how to set it up, and how to use it each day. Take this opportunity at the beginning of each school year to put together your new Student Binders and teach principles of doing our best work, discipline, neatness, making personal records, etc.
Tip 3: Occasionally, students will fill-up their binder before the end of a school year. If this happens, you can create another one, and separate some subjects in one and some in another.
Reminder: The Student Binder is a record of your child’s work, not all the lesson plan handouts that were used during lesson time. If your binder is filling up faster than you planned, it is likely you are including several lesson plan handouts, too.
