More About the Author and Book:
Although largely unknown among Latter-day Saints, the original Teaching Your Child to Read Using the Book of Mormon has an impressive history, and even more impressive track record as an effective phonics-based, early literacy curriculum. The Author, Grant Von Harrison, is well known as the author of Drawing on the Powers of Heaven, which has blessed many thousands of families and individuals worldwide. Most do not know that Grant’s life love vocationally was researching and discovering the best methods for teaching reading and developing curricular resources to serve parents, tutors, classroom teachers, and schools of all forms. Read more about Mr. Harrison, his extensive research and findings, and how using the Book of Mormon may have new meaning and purpose in your home.
Recently, Latter-day Learning received distribution and editorial license for Dr. Harrison's reading curriculum. This first "Focus Group" edition makes only minor edits to the text, but includes various teacher-focused improvements (hardbound cover, wire-binding, note-taking sheets, and more).
In coming months, Latter-day Learning will develop training videos and tools to accompany this inspired reading curriculum. Other cosmetic updates to the print copy will including additional color, imagery, and illustrations. To distinguish this updated edition from past editions, American Heritage School is, with permission from the author, republishing Dr. Grant Von Harrison’s work with a new title: Using the Book of Mormon to Teach Your Child to Read.
